Message from Stockbridge Primary Events Team

Dear Parents and Carers,
We’re delighted to announce that our events and fundraising activities this school year have topped £10,500. This is an incredible total for a school of our size, and will be used to enrich the school experience for every child in the school.
In the attached graphic you can see where the money has been raised, and what the Parent Council has voted to spend it on.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us in putting on our events – we simply couldn’t do it without the many parents and staff members who have offered a variety of skills and efforts.
Thanks also to all the pupils and families who’ve come along and made our events go with a swing, we hope you’ve had fun and look forward to doing it all again next year!
As always, we would be delighted to hear from any parent who’d like to get involved in helping with events, you can email us
Have a great summer!

End of year notices

Dear Parent/Carer

Huge thanks for all your support this year.  I am very privileged to be the head of a school with talented and enthusiastic pupils, hardworking staff and such an engaged parent body.  The post of Head Teacher is being re-advertised after the summer holidays and as such I will be back for more Stockbridge excitement in the new term until the new Head Teacher is appointed.

Please remember that we close early for the summer holidays as 12 o’clock this Friday.  This year all classes will congregate in the playground at 11.55am to clap our leaving P7’s out of school led by Mr Whitmore on his bagpipes.  All parents are very welcome to join the classes in the playground for this event.  Primary 1 – 3 pupils will then be dismissed from their class lining up positions and all other children will leave straight from this event.  Please can parents of P1-3 pupils ensure they do not take your child from the playground without informing the class teacher.

Please see below for lining up positions for next year.  Please can P1 parents (of children moving into P1/2 and P2) note that we are trialling a soft start.  The children will not line up in the playground and will instead go straight into the classroom any time between 8.55 and 9am.

Class 18-19 Which classroom? Where do they line up?
P1 New classroom Trial of soft start – children to come in between 8.55-9am and go straight into classroom
P1/2 New classroom Trial of soft start – children to come in between 8.55-9am and go straight into classroom
P2 Current P1 classroom Trial of soft start – children to come in between 8.55-9am and go straight into classroom
P3 Current P3 classroom Line up outside annexe building (this will temporarily change to next to shelter if landscaping not finished in time)
P3/4 Current P4 classroom Line up outside annexe building (this will temporarily change to next to shelter if landscaping not finished in time)
P4 Current P2 classroom Biggies playground
P5 Current P4/5 classroom Biggies playground
P5/6 Current P2/3 classroom Biggies playground
P6 Current P6 classroom By main entrance
P7 Current P7 classroom By main entrance

I hope you all have a lovely summer break and I look forward to seeing the children return refreshed on Wednesday the 15th August.

Best wishes,

Faye Calder-Kelly

I am delighted to inform you that following our accreditation visit today we have been awarded our Rights Respecting Schools Silver Award.  This is a result of a huge amount of work that that gone into learning about and promoting children’s rights over a number of years.  A big thank you to Miss Collier for leading the Rights Knights this year and all of the staff, children and parents who have been part of this journey!  This means we have achieved our Green Flag and Silver Award in this academic year – Go Team Stockbridge!

P7 Leavers Hoodies

Primary 7 have decided they would like leavers hoodies to help them commemorate their time here at Stockbridge Primary school. If you follow the link below you can pick the type of hoodie, colour and size. You then proceed to check out via the website. Once I have received the orders the hoodies will be made and sent to the school.

Please note that this has to be done by Wednesday 13th June to ensure we have enough time to get the hoodies printed and delivered.

Thanks for your support,

Sponsored Walk Grand Total

I am delighted to announce that our sponsored walk for Mpeni raised an astounding £3772.93!!!!

When this is added to our fundraising from earlier in the year our grant total comes to £7890.19!  This includes an extra £110 raised by Okko, Valo, Suzanne and Paul through a toy sale they organised in their weekend.

I  am so grateful and proud of the effort made by everyone in the school community to help our friends in Mpeni.  We are hoping that the additional money raised will be able to support the building of additional resources for the school.  We are in discussions with the Mpeni school community regarding the best use of the funds.

Thank you!

Best wishes,
