Our School

Stockbridge Primary is a City of Edinburgh local authority school. We are a non- denominational school and welcome children of all faiths or none, from ages 3 to 12. We are fortunate in enjoying extensive, flexible facilities in traditional yet modernised buildings. All class areas have interactive white boards installed.

The main school is housed in a listed Victorian building designed by award winning architect Rowan Anderson. In addition to the 7 classrooms in the main building there is a dining room/gym/assembly hall, a Support for Learning base, Main School Office, Administration Room, Head Teacher and Business Manager’s Office, Depute Head Teacher’s office, Resource room, Staff Room and Kitchen. In 2021/22 we are developing 2 further rooms – a Sensory Room and a Nurture Base.

Our Georgian annexe accommodates our Nursery, 2 classrooms, Staff Office, and a General Purpose room used for Drama, Music and is also our second staffroom. This GP space also houses an independent After School Club, Oscars.

Our new annex houses our P2/1 and P2 classes.

The school grounds include picnic and seating areas, a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), a trim trail, a traversing wall as well as tarmac play areas. We have 2 open bike sheds and a scooter store area.

Our Nursery has a wonderful garden area used by the children every day as well as a stimulating large open plan room, dining room/play area and a separate cloakroom.
