Sponsored Walk Grand Total

I am delighted to announce that our sponsored walk for Mpeni raised an astounding £3772.93!!!!

When this is added to our fundraising from earlier in the year our grant total comes to £7890.19!  This includes an extra £110 raised by Okko, Valo, Suzanne and Paul through a toy sale they organised in their weekend.

I  am so grateful and proud of the effort made by everyone in the school community to help our friends in Mpeni.  We are hoping that the additional money raised will be able to support the building of additional resources for the school.  We are in discussions with the Mpeni school community regarding the best use of the funds.

Thank you!

Best wishes,

Faye Calder-Kelly

P1 – 3 Sponsored Walk

Some pupils in the village of Mpeni in Malawi currently have to walk 6km to get to school and walk 6km to get back from school every day, as there are not enough classrooms at our partner primary school. As such, we have decided to fundraise for additional classrooms. Each class has been participating in fundraising activities throughout the year, and we completed a sponsored walk.

On Tuesday 27th March Primary 1 – 3 classes completed a 6km sponsored walk. Thank you to Scotmid for donating water and snacks to keep us going.

We did it!! Thank you to all staff and parent helpers.
