Message from Ms Calder-Kelly

It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you that my last day as Headteacher of Stockbridge Primary will be Friday the 31st August. The Acting Headteacher of Hermitage Park has now been appointed to another school and as such this has speeded up my moving date.

Prior to the Summer, the decision was made by the recruitment panel (which includes 2 parent representatives from the Parent Council and council officials) to re-advertise my post. The post of Headteacher is currently out for advert for the second time and will close on the 26th August. It is hoped that the successful candidate will be in post around the October break.

Miss Kathryn Collier has been asked to take on the post of Acting Headteacher to fill the gap between my leaving and the new Headteacher taking up the post. Miss Collier knows the school extremely well and I could not think of safer hands to leave the school in. I am confident that Miss Collier will do a fantastic job!

Yours sincerely,

Faye Calder-Kelly

Welcome back – important messages

Dear Parent/Carer

We are looking forward to welcoming your child back to school tomorrow.  The new classrooms are ready for action and looking fantastic!  I hope you are also impressed by the new landscaping around the classrooms.

The contractors have done a great job of getting the job finished on time for the new term but there are a few ‘finishing touches’ that you need to be aware of.

  • The grass has only just been laid and as such we are asking that the children to keep off the grass for the next week and a half.
  • You will also notice that the gate at the main entrance has not yet been reinstalled.  This will be completed this week and will be secured by a barrier in the mean time.
  • The soft surfacing around the fun fitness trail at the front of the school has had to be dug up for drainage work and a temporary safe surface is currently replacing this.  This is only a temporary solution and a new permanent soft surface will be laid as soon as possible.

A REMINDER OF CLASSROOMS AND LINING UP ARRANGMENTS

Please see below for lining up positions for this academic year.  P1 and P2 children will not line up and will instead go straight into the classroom any time between 8.55 and 9am.

Message from Stockbridge Primary Events Team

Dear Parents and Carers,
We’re delighted to announce that our events and fundraising activities this school year have topped £10,500. This is an incredible total for a school of our size, and will be used to enrich the school experience for every child in the school.
In the attached graphic you can see where the money has been raised, and what the Parent Council has voted to spend it on.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us in putting on our events – we simply couldn’t do it without the many parents and staff members who have offered a variety of skills and efforts.
Thanks also to all the pupils and families who’ve come along and made our events go with a swing, we hope you’ve had fun and look forward to doing it all again next year!
As always, we would be delighted to hear from any parent who’d like to get involved in helping with events, you can email us atstockbridgeprimaryevents@gmail.com
Have a great summer!

Sponsored Walk Grand Total

I am delighted to announce that our sponsored walk for Mpeni raised an astounding £3772.93!!!!

When this is added to our fundraising from earlier in the year our grant total comes to £7890.19!  This includes an extra £110 raised by Okko, Valo, Suzanne and Paul through a toy sale they organised in their weekend.

I  am so grateful and proud of the effort made by everyone in the school community to help our friends in Mpeni.  We are hoping that the additional money raised will be able to support the building of additional resources for the school.  We are in discussions with the Mpeni school community regarding the best use of the funds.

Thank you!

Best wishes,
