Will and Linda from Generation Science came in to deliver a “Marvellous Magnets” workshop today.
They told us a story about the earth’s magnetic poles and sang a song about the northern lights. They showed us giant magnets and a huge compass. We joined in with the “magnets attract, magnets repel” actions before trying some fun and practical activities.
In groups, we sorted objects into magnetic and non magnetic categories, before using magnet towers. We enjoyed making our magnets stick together and then bounce apart when we turned them upside down. We learned facts about magnets and about the earth. We all became excited when we heard about the North Pole. Santa lives somewhere magnetic!
What a fantastic morning- well done everyone!
